A Message from Joe Ayers AE6XE:

All,

There have been 2 notable developments in expanding the OC Mesh network recently.  Please propagate as appropriate.

1)  See below OC Register Article and the hard work accomplished in Laguna Woods.   Mission Viejo RACES is very thankful and happy to welcome LW online.  This critical path now enables high speed data services for EMCOMM use from Tri-Cites all the way out to Riverside and Los Angeles counties.  Data rates of up to 54Mps are achievable and have been confirmed in spots across these locations.  In the next several months we will extend to link together with the Ventura County Mesh Network.

2) Don Hill, KE6BXT, in preparation to give an AREDN demo in the Introduction to Emergency Comm Course EC-001 at the Santa Ana Red Cross facility this month, installed Mesh nodes on the Red Cross roof and connected into Pleasants PK.   See attached picture.   This is a 2.4Ghz downlink point-to-point with 5Ghz omni local area coverage--both dual polarity antenna channels.

3) Don Hill and I are schedule to present at the following groups in Oct and Nov for anyone that would like more information:

Oct 17:   EC-001 (AREDN Demo slot)
Oct 19:   SOARA
Nov 2:    HBRACES
Nov 19:  Brea RACES
Nov 21:  PAPA

Please see the article below in OC Register about Laguna Woods Install
