Ubiquiti Firmware update from AREDN for MESH Nodes

posted Jul 20, 2015, 10:02 AM by JRLopez TriCitiesRACES
The Mesh Nodes have undergone a firmware change that has added some great improvement in connectability and signal quality.
As a consequence the nodes we all have are now in need of changing because of a added channel -2 that they have added to our radios that give us a amateur only channel for us to use without contention from competing Access Points in our neighborhoods.

After installing the AREDN "experimental" firmware version 3.15.1 0b02 (for your device) you will have some setting changes that need to occur.
  • You will have to login to the device with the 192.168.1.20 address  (login is "root" Password is "hsmm")
  • On next screen change your device name to your callsign-hardware abbreviation-use, change password.
  • Then select "Basic Setup" Change SSID to "BroadbandHamnet" just like I typed it here.
  • In the same box"WiFi"  Change channel from 1 to -2.  and change Channel Width to "10 MHz"
  • Save Changes and the system will ask you to reboot
After reboot you will be able to see other stations that are programmed the same way.

Let me know if you would like help with this firmware upgrade.
